Well, here is my short review of our new Lenovo. I would first like to thank all of the great people here who have helped and continue to help. I'm so humbled by all of the great computer knowledge you all have and are very appreciative of the way that most of you are so willing to help. So thank you very much!

We paid about $1,000 plus tax.
Our estimaged ship date was 4/18 and it arrived on 4/18...so they were pretty true to shipping estimate. It came well-wrapped and well-protected. We weren't missing anything in the shipping so that was nice.
I would echo everyone who said that these machines are built like tanks--they are! We are using this to replace (eventually) our desktop and we didn't need anything that was ultra light or cool. We're just using it for family fun stuff and to surf. We don't really game much (although my husband is a wannabe gamer so we'll see.)
The computer is fast. The first time we turned it on...it seemed really slow and we're not sure why, but after we shut it down for the night and the next day turned it on...it was very fast. There are a couple of pop ups that we're not sure about...but we'll just have to figure it out as we go along. We didn't order much software and we haven't tried Windows Vista Business yet. We had some problems getting our router to "read" our notebook (our fault, not the computers,) but after a call to a techy...we're now surfing the internet and it is extremely fast (by our standards.)
All in all..it's been a great experience (largely attributed to this forum) and after having our Lenovo for 3 whole days--I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a fast tank to use for family fun.![]()
Thanks. If I can answer any questions about it...I'm more than happy to pay it forward to others.
Blessings.

Glad you had a great experince with your order and recieving it on time. Many people have come here lately just to complain about thier experince.

sounds great... my wife uses my r61 everyday.. she loves it.. we are expecting our first baby so she's using it now cause its "more comfortable" then sitting at the computer desk
did you get winxp recovery disks since you got vista business? -
Hi Gamemint--no complaints here at all.
Hi gmaster--
We didn't receive any disks. Should we have? Personal note: Congrats on your first baby! How exciting. We have three (our youngest is 8 1/2 months old.) They're such a blessing...children!! Truly!! That's so wonderful!! Big congrats to your family. -
skjnoble.. from what i understood from others that posted on the forum.. if you ordered a thinkpad with vista business.. they should have given you winxp pro install disks so that you could (if you wanted to) go back to winxp.. maybe they stopped doing that.. maybe someone else can chime in..
and
