    Hey everyone

Ordered a pretty standard T530 last week with an upgraded 1600X900 screen and an upgraded wifi. I used the "checkout with Amazon"(if that makes any difference) since they already had my shipping and credit card info online. A few days later the charges showed up pending on my CC as expected.

Checked the status a few times during the week and the system had a ship date of 9/16/2012. Checked the Status last night and the status was order cancelled. I have not received an email from Leveno as to why the order was cancelled, tried the chat to get info and they are referring me to sales which I can't get to until Monday. Not happy.

Anyone have any idea as to what could be going on ?

This ugly situation tends to happen with "checkout with Amazon" orders.

Wake up. Lenovo never communicates with any online customers! Heck, Lenovo backend systems don't even communicate among themselves!!!

Was wondering about the "checkout with Amazon".... This is really disappointing. Debating if to reorder but will be paying more, purchased during the sale a few weeks ago and really need a new system in a few weeks. Traveling and my current laptop is on deaths door.

First purchase from Lenovo.... lesson learned.

Yeah, I'd advise not to use Amazon's checkout. Sure, it's easy, but creates a mess sometimes. For example, I ordered an X230 tablet (two, actually) using Amazon checkout. I kept one (ended up selling to a member here) and returned the other. The returned unit was delivered back to Lenovo A MONTH AGO. To this day, I don't have a refund of any kind. Called up Lenovo yesterday and they opened a "case" to try and figure it out. The rep said this happens occasionally. What? So if I didn't catch it and call, Lenovo would ride off into the sunset with a straight up profit from me while they resell the unit again? Shady.

I'd bet the lack of refund processing was a result of Amazon checkout. Never had an issue with returns that were from direct credit card purchases. Apparently the Amazon payment system creates a layer that Lenovo can't seem to handle properly. Annoying.

If they are going to support Amazon payments, at least figure out how to take/refund money properly!

I've never used anything but a credit card.

    Never had a problem.

By involving a third-party (Amazon, PayPal) you're effectively creating a point of possible failure which doesn't have to be there...

    My $0.02 only...

Yep, can't argue that..... when I ordered the laptop and saw the pay by Amazon button and went " cool Amazon already has my CC and shipping info". Am a little annoyed this sounds to be an ongoing issue though (if indeed this is the reason). Will talk to sales Monday and see what they say but not putting a lot of faith anything will be resolved.

    Thanks all

I had ordered one fine with Amazon checkout. Check if you have the correct credit card information on file with Amazon.

The CC info on file at Amazon is fine, used it 2 weeks ago with no problem. Early last week the charges were "pending" on the CC.
Sent an email over the weekend and have not had a response as of yet....don't expect one. Called the number the chat folks referred me to Saturday because apparently they can't look at post sales stuff, gave up after being on hold for well over an hour. Was thinking about just reordering the system this morning but the price is more than when I ordered. .....I don't expect resolution or to ever know what happened. Oh well, off to the local computer store to look at an Asus or Toshiba not that Lenovo cares.

Experience has taught me that ajkula66's stance on third party payment processing is often correct. Online billing is one of those things where you want as few steps between you and the merchant as possible. I've been on both sides of this equation, and nobody wins when you involve additional processes/gateways/APIs/etc. It's just a downward spiral of bugs and suck.

Speaking of which, don't do e-commerce consulting unless you are a calm, unflappable person.

That brings back horrible memories: back-end message mappings, where virtually every case is a special case!!!

Yes, but it does provide such excellent employment opportunities for folks such as ourselves, doesn't it? :D
