    My T61 Arrived after 1 Month 13 days wait... Oh wait 2 inch crack on corner...

    Broken, the entire corner has a 2 inch crack, package wasn't messed up, it was packed well, it looks like they just shipped it with a 2 inch crack on the corner that even knocked out the page up key. Sigh, so frustrated, they are supposed to send a DHL box tomorrow and send me a new one within 5 days but im starting not to trust anything this company says.

    Here are some pictures of the arrived broken t61... so much for waiting 1 month 13 days for a new laptop.

    Thanks, sucks, esp since I just moved and my current laptop is blue screening in windows 20% of the time, and even worse I leave in about 2 weeks for egypt so I have to get a laptop for them or ill be typing on sand.

    Man, after seeing all these problems, I'm really contemplating not buying a T61. I've been so set on buying it, but I just keep more problems popping up.

    Was Lenovo so short on T61s that they've been sending out samples they used from their latest advertisement?

    This is not acceptable at all. I believe overnight shipping is in order.

    Wow, that's some heavy damage. Hope the replacement is problem free. Just so you know, I had to get a replacement T61 as well (they forgot to install a Bluetooth receiver in mine). The replacement was ordered last Friday and shipped on Monday. I didn't even get to send back the old one before they sent out the new one! So the turn around was very quick, which was nice. I think that 5 days sounds realistic if you go from my experience.

    Was this suppose to be a new laptop? Was this a T61 you broke and had to return only to have it returned to you in the same condition?

    Any chance for a picture of the lenovo box from the inside? Was the plastic around the cracked area torn up or anything?

    Ya I hope so too, I've been waiting for the ups guy all day, got it, 5 min later realize its broken, sucks.... So called them, they are delivering a DHL box tomorrow and the guy on the phone said it will take 1 day to get to them and within 5 days they will get me a computer. We will see, I've lost a lot of hope at this point in lenova.

    That was the damn crazy thing, it was covered with stryofoam and there is no way this damage was during shipping, on the crack there is a little bit of plastic stuck to it from the bag and it looks like it was in the bag when it broke, then it got packaged from shipping.

    No this is a brand new laptop, I had it for 5 min, signed for it, took it upstairs, unwrapped it, started drinking to lessen the anger :)

    Man that major sucks. I hope you get a replacement in a timely manner. I dont know how anyone at Lenovo's manufacturing plant could have missed that...

    This is the first time I've heard of a physically damaged new notebook that isn't the cause of mishandling during shipping. From the looks of it, the notebook would have to be dropped from a high point or have excessive force applied for it to break like that. If this is caused by a light drop, I wonder what are the chances it'll actually survive truly harsh environments/rough handling by the user?

    I think the QC has dropped significantly at the Lenovo factories to try to satisfy all the demand.

    Heh, I was tempted but the battery wouldn't even fit in it was so warped. I looked at it, said ****, packed it back up, and made a glass of whisky.

    im surprised they didnt blame you for the damage. Its highly unlikely a machine just drops off the line and they still pack it up.

    Well DHL guy never showed up with a box, called back and support said it would be another day and that the first support guy i talked too didn't understand time zones :(

    so hopefully tomorrow DHL guy comes to take this away and they should get it Saturday and so by the end of next week hopefullly a replacement.

    Starting to look at the new dell instead after this whole mess, a solid state drive would be very nice.
