i have a problem with my T61 7663 AC9. the LCD likes to blink everytime the battery icon (thinkvantage powermanager) disappeared. not only blinking LCD, but also it start to have a "lagging" when that problem occured. when i listen to the windows media player, my mp3 song start to skipped and when i type in the microsoft word the cursor seems lagging. sorry for my bad english...it happened not only when i not plugged in the battery, when i plugged in the battery in a charging process, the battery green light under the LCD is blinking in a periodic time. do anybody have a same problem with me? my t61 have a AC adaptor attached to the outlet all the time without battery installed. because this laptop always stays at home all the time.

Do you know why the battery icon disappears?

It seems that a new power profile is kicking in that is causing your processes to slow down. It sounds like the CPU clocks down to its lowest speed in order to conserve power and that your monitor may be changing refresh rate to lower power draw. The lower CPU speed would explain your song skipping and your laggy programs. The change of refresh rate would explain your LCD blinking. The green battery light blinking under the LCD that you mentioned is just the battery charging.

Oh, you mentioned that you leave the laptop plugged into AC without the battery plugged in. On most recent Thinkpads, this automatically causes the CPU speed to be locked at the lowest speed.
