Cool! now i can leave my thinkpad meters away from a public place without being worried that it would be stolen thanks to thinkpad Active Protection System + a small program called TPTOMATO ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/tptomato)

People were shocked when they saw my laptop having an alarm system like a car! ha ha way so cool. i just love my thinkpad!

Nice little app. I know there's something similar for the MBP - iAlarm I believe?

you can just mute the volume in windows or simply hit the mute button on the thinkpad's volume controls

iAlertU...I've got it on my MBP and it's funny as hell to set it and see people come in my house and mess with it. Even funnier when I show them the time stamped picture that it takes when the alarm goes off

would anyone be able to hear the alarm in a public area with the t61's crappy speakers? lol

This is a great idea though.

you can't mute audio while siren's sounding. only dedicated keys you set can turn it off.

well, i tested, it did sound quite loudly in public. enough to get everyone's attention.
