My T61P shows that it only has 1.96 GB of RAM instead of 2 and the processor speed is 2.19GHz instead of 2.2   is this normal?

I compared my T61P XP Pro (2GB - 2.2 GHz) against my friend's Dell Inspirion Vista w/ a 1GB - 1.6 GHz.....we run AutoCAD and 3DS Max / Maya on both machine, and my T61P was lagging so bad and was convincingly outperformed by the measly configured Dell Inspirion :( .......my notebook outperformed his for the most part running other programs/internet in terms of speed, heat generated and mine was just so quiet compared to the Dell.....but for some reason those 3 programs just seems to bring my notebook down......any clues????

Do you have your performance profile in battery settings set to max performance? Updated video drivers?

Lol cmon man, 10MHz and 40MB of ram is scaring you?

Guarantee you that those minor details is not what caused your "lack of performance" compared to your friends' Dell. You must have been on power saver.

Plus, all systems are like that, it's just how it is. My 1.6GHz cpu jumps from 1596MHz to 1600MHz. It's normal.

lol..i was thinking the same thing

10mhz and 40mb of ram won't make a difference at all

I think what's slowing you down is you still have that bloatware on your TP

Now, i dare you to look at your HD capacity...I bet it's much lower than what you ordered
