Yesterday night I was watching movie just fine but this morning, the screen only displays black and white.

I tried changing the driver, didn't help.

I tried disabling the fx570m device, my color is back but i have only 640x480 resolution.

I tried booting into safe mode, my color is back.

Every time I boot into vista, the color stays for like 5 secs, and then it just suddenly turned into gray scale.

    I need your help! Please!

    Your GPU is probably faulty.

I think you have the G84 core right?
Because that has a known fault.

Try a system restore to make sure it's not driver related

Colors might have to do with ICC/ICM profiles

But since you have an Nvidia card there's a high chance of that failing...

Another issue, my machine is always very very HOT (mostly when i play games, even war3 and D2, they aren't using a lot of horsepower but... i don tknow). i can fry eggs on it. The fan is working, i can feel the hot air coming out.

    Heat + G84M = dead GPU.

The BGA solder cracks, you get a bad connection from the chip to the motherboard.

    Google "G84 and G86 fault".

Extend your warranty and get ready to send in the notebook for repairs.

    Do you have warranty?

Damn it.. they are all bad.

if the repair guy change it to another G84M, it will eventually go bad too

Unless you keep the temp under 60C (which is hard to do).

Maybe when they fix the notebook, sell it.

I think in one of the articles about our beloved nvidia GPUs I read that in particular downclocking the memory clock should "somewhat" help (anybody saw that, too, or has the ref?).

Anyway, that's easy to do and hardly impacts the performance.
