Anyone else have this happen to them? The little indention adjacent to the function key is no more. The outer portion fell off. I have 4 year accidental damage and etc., so am not worried. But, I still wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

84 views and no comments make me feel good. This is obviously an isolated incident. Whew!

Never saw that happen before. Good thing you're under warranty.

Yeah, I am a warranty fanatic. I always get one that will exceed my need for the laptop, and that includes ADP. Spoke to them this morning and they are sending a palm rest overnight.

Ya I had the exact same thing happen to mine but on the other side. Warranty covered it. There was a 3-4 month period where I lived with a piece of exposed magnesium-alloy there because I couldn't have my laptop be out of action for a week if I sent it in for repairs.

I hate to seem like a jerk, but I guess I wouldn't consider that tiny piece of plastic as "falling apart!" I would however, being the person I am, have to have it fixed. When I first got my T61p the mouse button on the palm rest squeeked every single time I clicked it, and it annoyed the heck out of me, Lenovo replaced it, overnight for free, and didnt want the old palm rest back. I have had nothing but positive experiences and am thoroughly impressed with build quality. Go Lenovo!

That's one reason onsite is a must for my warranty extensions.

Parts falling off, no matter the size of the part, equals falling apart in my book , but I do see your point. On a positive note, if this is the worse issue I'm going to have over four years, then great. I am very happy with my laptop and Lenovo's service, so much so that I am considering a T400(s)/X20x to follow it.
