So one main complain about the Lenovo Ideapad Y series (y500/y400/y410p/y510p) is the touchpad. Personally, i found the touchpad to not only be useable, but overall satisfying for me after using the following settings (i'm using ELAN):
One finger:
Tapping: Enable
Clicking: Default values
Drag and Drop: Enable, release after finger lift
Edge Swipe: DISABLE
Multi Finger:
Zooming: DISABLE
Clicking: DISABLE
Scrolling: Horizontal and vertical scroll, reverse optional, medium speed
Rotation: DISABLE
3Finger Swipe: DISABLE
4Finger Swipe: DISABLE
Additional
Palmtracking: Use what is most comfortable for you
Sensitivity: ^
Smart Motion: DISABLE
I know some features are lost, but face it, most of these are barely used anyways, and just get in the way when its not necessary. With these settings, i have my tap to click, my 2finger scrolls, and my working buttons. No cursor jumps, no erroneous mistakes, just a nice and functional touchpad.
Mileage may vary, but overall, this trackpad is not so bad if you configure it to your needs. Dont forget the driver updates.
Cheers.

Actually after switching from the dreaded windows 8 to the almighty windows 7, my touchpad is flawless ... I think it is driver issue and shall be handled with drivers update

doesn't work on the Y510P as well, cursor still jumps when clicking the left side. Will def need to be fixed with a driveer update.
