My W500 doesn't have an FRU for the keyboard! Can someone help?

W500 doesn't have a keybaord number and has some flex. I'd like to know what the FRU so I can report it to mark@lenovo as part of the "info gathering" process.

I did both the autmoatic parts look up and the manual inputting numbers one. I can supply the serial number if really needed but I'd rather avoid it if possible in a case of privacy. If someone can pull the keyboard FRU out of that mess or an easy way to obtain said FRU I'd greatly appreciate it.

How's the screen in particular?

You could find the FRU by lifting up your keyboard if you wish.

Remove your keyboard by following the instructions for keyboard removal on page 71.

The FRU should be on the bottom of the keyboard.

 

pufftissue: I love it. The screen is quite vivid and better than the one on my Acer (both WSXGA+). it's an LG is that helps.

veemexx: thanks for the hardware manual. I'm thinking I'm going to have to it one way or another so it's good to have it.

 

I've just removed my keyboard and I've PMed Mark_Lenovo the FRU: 42T3937. What's yours if you don't mind me asking?

There are three types of US English Keyboards: 42T4002, 42T4066, 42T3937 from the Hardware Maintenance Manual.
