Hi guys .. So since 2 days ago, I haven't been able to turn on my Y50-70, and I don't know why. I shut it down and then 3-4 minutes later I tried turning it on and it won't! I've never had this problem previously.

    Some observations:
    >> Charging light turns on/off as expected when I connect/disconnect the charger.
    >> When I press the power button, the power button itself and the power light turn on for about 1/4th of a second then turn off. The keyboard light remains on for about 2-3 seconds and then also turns off. Nothing shows up on the screen at any time.
    >> The above sequence happens only when there's at least 2 minutes gap between tries. If I try booting it any sooner than 2 minutes, nothing happens at all.

I tried opening the laptop and disconnecting/reconnecting the internal battery, but it didn't help.

My laptop's Lenovo warranty also ran out last month, so I don't think I can send it to Lenovo as well :(

    Any suggestions ?

Taking the battery out was going to be my suggestion. Try Re-setting the RAM and see if it's shutting down due to lack of ram. It could also be a heat issue, Is the fan clogged?

If you try turning it on VIA the boot menu button beside the power button, does it do the same thing?

Check hard drive. Unplug it, put in enclosure and connect to other pc. If it's runs and you see all files and folders. Back up your files. May be you need reinstall windows. If not. Buy new one. Install new os.
Same thing was happening with my 1tb shdd. It's dead.
