My delivery date (UPS) changed?

My original delivery date was 12/11, tomorrow. But I checked the tracking info again today, and it has been changed to 12/12. Is that unusual? There has not been any problems such as customs or plane failure that I know of.

Mine said 12/11 and now it says:
Rescheduled Delivery: 12/11/2006

I wonder if this means it will be arriving in the afternoon instead of before 10:30 am. The latest entry is:

Mine has said "Rescheduled Delivery" the whole time, even before it actually left HK. When I called on Friday the rep said it should arrive before 1030am, but then again she also said it would come on Monday, and now that doesn't seem likely.

 

Sometimes dates change, there could have been a problem with UPS somewhere--mechanical problem with one or their planes or trucks, an issue at a distribution center, etc. Don't stress too much--you waited this long, one day is not going to make a huge difference. Your notebook will be here soon enough.

 

Mine is on the same plane as mbrockma and the_oatman!!! And it got rescheduled for Tuesday 12/12 as well

 

So you have something to look forward to longer

I'm gonna call UPS tomorrow and ask them to hold the package for Tuesday delivery so I can pick it up myself during the lunch. Otherwise it becomes a headache with signing those delivery notes...

 

I know of a person who apparently had a PS3 (from Cosco I believe) delivered to his address by UPS, he wasn't home and they left it at the doorstep. It was stolen. He is out over $600 and is trying to find a remedy.

Yes, UPS does that. I wish Lenovo had gone with FedEx instead.

 

First the reason for the re-scheduled dates is due to customs and FDA inspections. I ordered a Fujitsu earlier this year and expereinced the same issues. FDA you ask...beats the heck out of me. However since my deleivery was scheduled for the middle of the week, my package was delayed only ny one day.

As far as contacting UPS to be able to pick up the package will be a time consuming chore. You will first have to contact Lenovo and have them in turn contact UPS. Since Lenovo is the "shipper" they will have to initiate all conversations.

 

My computer is in NH now, maybe it will make it here after all by Monday? There is no delivery date listed right now.

That sucks! Good luck with that. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that it comes in on 12/12 still.

 

Mine made it over to Newark, NJ from Louisvill, KY @ 7 p.m. So, unless they will bring it over to my local Jersey UPS place by midnight, I will not get the package until Tuesday...

@dietcokefiend: sounds like they messed up paperwork, bastards!!! If thats a case, complain to Lenovo and demand something like a warranty upgrade (from 1yr to 3yr) or if you have 3yr (from depot to on-site).

Mine is taking a rather odd route since they don't fly SDF-LIT-SHV on Sundays, only SDF-SHV without the stop in LIT. They're claiming it won't get here until Tuesday (it was Monday before the mechanical delay), but if they were sending it through Little Rock it would have gotten there by now unless the truck broke down too!

Guess I'll see where it turns up in the morning...

 

Any way to prove this, or is this always a paperwork issues?

The same here, rescheduled for 12/11 now... I said before I don't even care if its today or in a couple of days, but now you guys got me all caught up in that UPS-delivery checking game

@dietcokefiend: Not sure how to prove it since Lenovo probably going to deny it. I wonder if you can call UPS and ask them what is a hold up? For example, tell them its a machine for business and with everyday of waiting you are losing money. Be convincing, maybe you will get somewhere. But, paperwork is the most likely reason why its in hold up "beyond UPS control". Happens sometime with some of our overseas vendors when I get a call from "brokerage" and have to give them more details regarding the product.

Now, I bet UPS can't leave it at my door and I have to wait until tomorrow to take time off work and go pick it up....

 

Got mine delivered at 10 a.m. Yes, they do require a signature. I'm actually home with my baby daughter today (she is recovering from cold), so its good that I'm home to sign the delivery, but will not be able to use it until she takes a nap. Don't expect any pictures from me LOL!!! I have '07 GS350 AWD in a driveway now which I haven't had a chance to take any pictures of yet either. Will have to ask my wife to take some with her Rebel XT.

 

Mine arrived at about 10AM as well. I'm posting this message from it. I got the NMB keyboard and the TMD screen. I haven't noticed any dead or stuck pixels yet. The keyboard is pretty nice, but I think I prefer whatever was on my T30, but it may just be that I'm used to it.

There is a bit of light leakage on a full black screen, but it's not noticeable in the browser. The screen does have a bit of a blue cast to it, but I usually set my color temperature up to around what this one appears to be, so it's alright. It's not nearly as blue as some pictures of the panel I had seen made it look, but it's definitely bluer than my desktop sony LCD or my T30's panel.

I'll get some pictures later today if anyone is interested.

Edited to add: Despite the order saying "v5200," it does indeed have the v5250 as the tabook indicates all C2D t60ps should.

 

I would be interested in the GS350 AWD pics as much as the Thinkpad.

I had same delivery date "problem". First I checked it was 12/4. The day before delivery (12/3) it changed to 12/5. I checked in the morning of 12/4 and it was OUT FOR DELIVERY. Came in at around 9:45 am 12/4.

BTW. I ordered standard shipping and Lenovo upgraded it to Express. Took me less than a week to get it delivered from the order date (customized). Very nice.
