Yes there were post about it, people all know about it, long time ago. That keyboard picture is nothing new.
There hardly any information about the W700, so just hold your breath.

It's not new to this forum we have known about that since the information about the new ThinkPad series leaked.

The W700 won't be out soon, and there is no any information about it at the moment as far as I know.

I had heard that there was going to possibly be a new 17" thinkpad, but had not heard anything about it here or elsewhere. Thanks for posting.

Dude, the links you posted were not exactly "discussions"... W700 (what i entered in the search box) produce very little results let alone a "discussion". They werent discussions dude. W700 was mentioned twice if not once....

And how is June a "loooooong time ago"?? It was last f**king month. Are you kidding?

We have known about that since like January:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=211414

Look at this post (01-23-2008) and who made it:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=2908205&postcount=9

No one stops you to discuss it, but what exactly are you going to discuss? There will be a 17" ThinkPad, named the W700, we have a sketchy pic of its supposed keyboard. Great! Thanks for discussing this with me.

Seriously, you can discuss whatever you want, but we just don't have any new information for discussion, you posted something that we knew like 5 months ago. You don't expect plenty of people to discuss a non-announced notebook, with no release date, or any other specific information for that matter.

I also don't get the idea of such a discussion. Yeah, it would be a somehow interesting laptop (though the ThinkPad is a classic under 15.4"). But it should also have a very fast video card (since it's a 17" and it would make sense) compared to the current ones. But it's all dust in the wind until we have some evidence of it actually going to be released (or maybe some rumors).

Yep, unless someone found a new link with pictures and review...not much of a point in this post.

I hate to throw fuel on the fire, but here goes. I've seen that keyboard before and it's not just that picture. Anyone remember that survey Lenovo was running like last month where they wanted people's opinions on keyboards? That ugly bezel at top and the keyboard is one of options they solicited opinions on. All it lacked was the number pad. I think that means it is still a bot of a ways off, if they cant even decide on something previously set in stone like "the" keyboard.

There will also be Quad-cores available, it will house the new Nvidia Quadro 3700m (not the 2700 like it says on the Hong Kong site, or maybe it's an option...) and the pic that circulated months ago is real - the w700 will be available with a mini-tablet as an option.

Yes. The support people at Lenovo.com said it should be available later this Month (august), so it shouldn't take long.

Ugh, i just spoke to a representative at Lenovo and mentioned about a late August release and he seemed kinda hesitant about it. He never really said yes or no whether we would see it August ...

Then i proceeded to ask about the secondary touchpad thing and he confirmed that its for "drawing".. it would be optional feature.. then i said optional feature as in optional "hardware" like we can configure the laptop without it?? he said he doesnt know because there is no release date as of yet...

    Wth man..

It seems that way with every company i have dealt with.... kinda frustrating...

Found some Hong Kong Univ. flyers for the new LEnovo laptops. with configurations... This is not the one you have been seeing ... its a real life picture of a flyer... or catalog or whatever..

I can confirm the integrated tablet Smile btw it`s not an issue with palm resting - you can put it right on the tablet, it`s only activated by special pen.
There is one little special thingy - do you guys like to work on two displays? If yes, W700 is your thing Wink cannot tell more.
Btw - new HP 8730w is going to have an option for DreamColor display with RGB LED backlight and 8-bit colors!

That was a quote from the Thinkpad forum post. What is he saying?? dual monitors?
