I just got my T430! woohooo! And now I'm wondering what my first steps are.
I'm making my factory pre-load recovery disks right now.
I've been recommended to do a benchmark test but I'm not sure where I can find one. Can you recommmend me a good free benchmark test I can use?

Are there anything else that I should be doing?

If you want to run benchmarks, perhaps run these: Lenovo ThinkPad T430: Performance

Otherwise, you'll probably want to remove any bloat that was included and just start using it!

If you haven't done so, with the Power Manager you can setup charging thresholds to prolong the battery life. I set mine 35% to 95% personally but feel free to tweak to suit your own preference.

Those look about right, although for PCMarks it depends which version you ran. I assume you benchmarked using PCMarks 7? In any case, don't worry and just start using your computer!

Do a couple drop tests and if it dies it's defective. :p

All joking aside, if you want to run a few stress tests for a few hours to make sure the hardware can actually take it (I like OCCT Linpack + Furmark). I would also inspect it physically for anything weird. But yeah, aside from that, it should be good to use aside from uninstalling or installing stuff.
