Hi, I got my new T510 a few days ago. It has 64-bit Win 7 Prof.

If I don't touch any key or move mouse within a minute, the screen turns itself off. This drives me crazy. I looked at Windows' Power Options and ThinkVantage's Power Controls. Try different values/combinations, but was unable to change it. Not sure whether I missed something.

    How can I do this?

    Thanks a lot!

    Regards.

Go to Power Manager, click the Advanced button. Now, expand the "Idle timers" menu below, and adjust the "Dim display" (backlight reduction on idle) and the "Turn off display" settings, adjusting appropriate times. That should do it.

    MidnightSun,

Thanks so much for your input. Actually I tried that but it does not work.

    Here is what I did:

Control Panel->Power Options->Power Manager (on the left side) -> Idle Timers. I set "Dim Display" to 60/60 minutes and "Turn off display" to Never/Never. My Power Plan on Power Manager is "Maximum Performance"
My Power Plan on Power Options is also "Maximum Performance".

Another question: what is the difference between Power Options on Control Panel and ThinkVantage's Power Manager?

    Regards.

Could it be the screen saver?

Ollollo, you could be right. I went to control panel->display and found turn screen saver on or off. There is the 1 minute screen-saver setting. In the past, so focused on power plan, never thought aobut this.

Thanks soooooooooo much and have a great holiday!

    Thanks!
