I've had my new T43 for about 48 hours. I orderd it direct from Leveno and it arrived at my house in less than 2 days. This makes the 5th laptop I've owned in my life, but the first Thinkpad. I must say that it has a supurb quality and feel about it - that same feel you get when you close the door of a European luxuary car. It seems that a lot of laptops on the market focus on bling, while the Thinkpad focuses on small details. I was also happy with the lack of preinstalled crap that most new notbooks come with. The only think I'm unhappy about is that it took me this long to figure this out.
One question - it didn't come with an XP disk. What do you do if you need to reinstall the OS?

Congrats on the new machine. There is none better in my opinion. You need to burn off the recovery CDs. It is under Start>Programs>AccessIBM. They don't give an OEM XP CD. The recovery discs put it back to the state when you got it.

Unbuntu works very well on ThinkPads.
