My order was shipped within 1 week

ordered on 10/23/2007 and already got mine this Monday (10/29/2007).
Unbelievable!!!

When I ordered, Lenovo's site mentioned there will be delay for 9 cell and DVD recorder for about 3-4 weeks. Don't know what happened.

Seems like the "non P's" are being sent out early?

 

Yup, it seems that Lenovo got their act together and started putting systems together quickly. I ordered mine on 8/24, and it had shipped 4 days later.

I guess the biggest thing is component availability. The reason for all those delays during the summer was the shortage of new components. But now that their in stock, they can bang out a system in a couple days.

Maybe because those come with the option of a 4:3 SXGA+ screen and the more powerful 570M gpu. I'm almost positive that the non-widescreen high-res display is the biggest cause for the backups.

 

I think the only difference between mine and "p" is video card. I did lot of researc before I put order

 

I placed my order in yesterday and got an ESD of 11/30/07.

We'll see what happends.

 

My T61P's status was Shipped when I woke up on Monday (10/29) Ordered mid-Saturday (10/27). Too lazy to copy/paste config, so here goes:

CD-RW/DVD drive (the 3-4 week delay pushed me away from the DVD-RW)
6 cell batt (no 9 cell available when i ordered :/ )
Vista Home (have a spare copy of Vista Business around, so....)

nop i ordered 10/11/07 and now it pushed to 11/30/07 and my laptop is 100 dollar cheaper........

That's four days it took to ship. How splendid. I was expecting it in a month.

 

hmmm, at least they doing something about the delay issue.
hope it will affect my order also. since 4 oct until now.

 

Maybe mine could come early, at least I hope. It looks like the t61's are being sent very quickly.. Perhaps the other members are right the qaudro 570 could be what is holding everything back or maybe the screens?

 

Thats a pretty long time kaede, I think yours will probably come very soon

 

I have an R61 14.1" that's been on order since October 2nd, so I beat kaede by two days. I was told the monitor and the DVD-RW drive were the main reasons for the delay, but I don't get it since I see people who ordered those components on this and other threads shipped before me yet they purchased after me.

 

it was 11/14 as my original ESD Date.

 

I ordered mine with everything except the 9 cell battery and the dvd burner i had from my T60 which i kept, I ordered everything that was on a non delay.

 

I see, damn looks like I might have to wait for a month, unless they get the dvd rw's in before..

yeah thats pretty weird. I remember ordering a PPC from dell back in December of 05, and they claimed they had a shortage delay and they were to ship it in early 06. I had emailed them saying I needed it before Christmas as a present, and they put it "top priority". Strangely I got it two days later. Maybe People are emailing and/or calling Lenovo and getting lucky

Was your ESD like a month away? I hope I get as lucky as you, I really need to run some of this software from college, this computer I have cant even do it

Wow 4 days, my configuration is nearly the same, I take it your ESP was a month later too? Mine has been in the Process status for 2 days.

 

My original ESD was 11/29

 

Ordered the 29th, ESD 11/15, actual shipping date 11/02. Combo drive and 6 cell t61p. Plan on sending back the combo drive to get cash back and purchasing the dvdrw through lenovo (you can return any part within 21 days for 85% the original price). Buying a 9-cell through ebay for around $65 and selling the 6 cell for half that.
