What was your inital estimated ship date, once your order was confirmed?

 

my est. ship date was 10/17

 

I have almost the exact same system, ordered on 10/1 (only difference is I went with the a/g/b wireless). My ESD is 10/18...status is still "in process."

Any reports on how long shipping usually takes? Don't they come from Shanghai?

Also, I heard they usually ship these out in bulk about once a month. I hope I didn't just miss one of the shipments!

 

I ordered my system on 10/04, last minute before coupon expired. According your shipping record, my system should be shipped after a week, maybe 10/11.

I just ordered an x61s last night, IBM employees got an eCoupon for xSeries laptops that ended last night that gave an additional 10% to the 25% thinkpad discount and the employee discount, none the less, i got a great deal.

My estimated shipping date was 10/25, from what i've heard, people have been having issues getting x61s's to their door, hopefully i'll get it by the end of october (but that may be wishful thinking).

For anyone looking for some good, reasonably priced ram for their thinkpad, newegg has a great deal for Gskill 2GB DDR2 667 mhz notebook ram. I got 2 2gb dimms for 176$, and am going to throw the 1gb that came with my incoming x61s into my mac book pro (i believe they'll be compatible).

I went with the x61s because I plan on having it docked almost constantly, so resolution and battery size isn't an issue, just need something to haul back and forth to work.

Just got an email from Lenovo - my order has shipped. Sweet! It took less than a week, but I think I got lucky.

Again, could anyone tell me how long these take to be delivered once shipped? I didn't pay any extra for the shipping, just standard.

 

my x61 will arrive tomm. ordered on 30th.

I took only 8 days to get it. if it does not dely.

my shipping method is also UPS ground on my roder status page.

but it seems they just give us express service since it is comming from China.(cannot ship with ground anyways )

Interesting tracking information. I think X61 is still contracted by Wistron in Kunshan, Jiangsu, China. So your order is shipped from Shanghai, one hour's drive away. UPS is really trying hard to save cost by rerouting your package from Shanghai, China to Osaka, Japan first. I think they're also shipping a large number of orders to Japan customers. Otherwise your order should be shipped to US directly.

BTW, I think T61 is still made in-plant by Lenovo IIPC in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. So the package is routed to Hong Kong first, which is only one hour away.

From your tracking info, we can clearly see UPS is trying reschedule your order routing in order to save time and cost. Maybe to Osaka, Japan first, again. I think no matter how they airlift your package, it takes much more time within US rather from other side of the Pacific Ocean.

I got my x61 this morning.

it was scheduled for delivary on 9th (tomm.) but I got it this morning.

I am impressed with UPS and Lenovo.

It took exactly 6days and 16 hrs to get it to me from ordering point.

I am happy about it

 

received my x61 early this morning. i'm on in now. extremely happy. i'm planning on posting a new thread with my initial thoughts sometime soon.
