    Hi,
My old, old IBM X61 is really getting older. It's even a miracle that I CAN play Halo.
    But yes, I can.
The problem is, after 1hour or so of gaming, the computer just shuts down.
I think it might be related to the high temperature of system, but who knows?

Check the fins on the system power supply and any other place where air cooling is employed.

So I downloaded a program to monitor my temps, and once I run Halo, they go really high...spooky...

Make sure you are using the laptop on a solid surface (not in bed for instance), use a compressed air canister to very carefully blow any dust on the processor and graphics card heatsink/fan assembly away. If all that fails maybe one of those laptop coolers that it sits on top of would be a wise investment.

you should clean you notebook from the inside. there might be a lot of dust blocking the cooling vents and covering the fan.

once you have cleaned it your temps should be back to normal and the shutdowns should be gone.

maybe you should have a read the cooling and cleaning section:
