First let me say i dont get all the grips about keyboard flex & fit issues ,, mine has none of those issues,, Its great, its solid, its whisper quiet.

Ok with that said here is my question this high nit screen is awesome and very bright so when indoors i turn it way down. When im away from my machine for a lil while then return and wake the screen it always goes back to its brightest setting and its a shock to my eyes, so how can i get it to stay at a preset level then adjust it up as needed.. Thanks for all your help.

    power manager
the default tab (the one it launches with) has system settings, and the 4th option AFAIR is the brightness. battery and plugged in settings are separate.

and there is a set of settings for each power scheme so change them accordingly

Every time the screen turns off (like when you leave your computer for a while) and turns on again, the brightness goes back to the default setting. You can change this in the Power Manager, which you can access by right-clicking the battery gauge in your taskbar and choosing "Launch Power Manager".
