    Thanks for the post. The battery in my wife's T61 failed a couple months ago, and Lenovo wouldn't cover the replacement because it was over a year old (and the battery warranty is only 1 year). Luckily my Amex provides an extra year of coverage and paid for the new battery. I would be pretty pissed if I had had to pay for the new battery when now Lenovo is admitting they are defective.
