    Hey everyone,

My dad and I just recently ordered T440s through Lenovo, but my dad was interested in possibly getting the new X1 instead, and my mom was too.

After speaking with a rep on the phone on Monday when the system first was put on the site, she first told him that they couldn't offer any discounts since the system was brand new as of that day. Lo and behold, she took his info and ended up emailing him a few hours later with a quote on the top of the line model that retails for $2099 for just $1784.15.

He showed me the quote and I was shocked... and yes its for the brand new top of the line model: 20A70037US

Just an FYI for those who are interested in these but holding out for discounts. Sounds like contacting the proper rep may get you a deal on this system out of the gate.

Always call and haggle over the price of a laptop. I basically did the same thing with my W520 back when it was brand-new. Retail was $2167 and I only paid $1665.

You just have to keep trying if you want it. Sometimes you'll get a rep that won't play ball with you.

See I use the Corporate Perks site and it does give me a decent discount. I was wondering if they go lower...

Last week, I bought a T440p at the same time, then asked about a discount on a new X1 carbon. They knocked it down to $1,891 from the $2,099 list. It's supposed to ship tomorrow. I'll be sure to give my impressions when I (eventually) receive it.
