Hi, I've been tuning my new T60 (2007-FUG), which replaced my HP nx7400. I've been using NHC for a quite long time without any major issues (nx6110+nx7400), until now. On T60 NHC (with ACPI script for TP) all voltage options grayed out and the CPU speed is set to max (but speedstep is working - I've checked it in cpu-z). Is it a compatibility problem? On the same T5600 in HP nx7400 everything was working flawlessly. For 2 days I've been searching through thinkpads and notebookforum without the final answer or work around. I've tried Rmclock but it is loosing settings after restart and considerably shortened the battery life (by 1h).

Yes, it helps to undervolt Core2duo. On nx7400 I have 0,95V set for all multipliers and cpu speeds. Reduce heat and prolong battery life.

Probably. I use RMClock, it is a similar program. I have mine set to .750 -> .975. Also gets rid of the buzzing you may be hearing that is the result of the CPU's power states.

^@acaurora: how much longer does you battery last compared to running without rmclock? Any huge differences? I'm not sure whether I should bother trying to figure out how to use rmclock (looks complicated)

@lobo2003: I'm not sure about the t60 but the newer santa rosa laptops like t61 don't work with NHC. It also seems that our ACPI isn't compliant w/ NHC. It's best to stick to rmclock.

well, i mean for me the buzzing is what got me to use RMClock. Now with RMClock running I dont hear that buzzing anymore. As for battery life I honestly dont think there is much gain, probably like 1/2 an hour. The heat I honestly dont really pay attention to. Mine never gets hot or even warm for that matter.

^any tips on using rmclock for me and the OP? I'm thinking of trying it out but it looked quite overwhelming when I went to download it a month ago

Well, just as a reference my T7200 runs @ .950V at its lowest setting (6.0x) and then goes up to .975V at its highest. You can enter the lowest and highest voltages in the Profiles section. it will automatically adjust the voltages for the ones in between. (Its at the bottom of the window).

Once you're @ Advanced CPU settings, have only Enable Thermal Monitor 2 enabled as well as Extended throttling. Check all the enhanced low power states also. Click on the Platform button, check the "Enter C4 on C3" command, and uncheck both "Enable Popdown mode" and "Enable Popup mode". Those are all the settings i have, and my T60 runs for about 4.5 hours with the screen all the way dimmed down, WiFi on, and just doing regular internet browsing / word. With the screen all the way up its about 3.75 hours.
