wondering if anyone has some vista 3dmark scores running an NVS140.
post some specs on your machine and your score.

I believe I got right around 5000 in 03 and 3100 in 05. The rest of the specs were a T7200 and 1gb of ram.

wow. thats nice. i have the free version of 06 and only posted 1750 with T7500 and 2GB of ram. last night i ran it for the first time. didnt have too much time to tweak it but i could not imaging how much tweaking i could do to add 1300 points to my score. what driver are you using?

For me, with the configuration below (except with 3GB, not that it matters), I got 3522 on '05 at 400/600, and 4575 at 530/750.

I also got 1699 on '05 on the slower speed and 2040 at the overclocked one listed above.

what are you using to overclock your GPU? what kinda temps are you seeing at the higher clock speeds? do you run the machine normally overclocked? thanks for the input.

You do realize you void your warranty by OC-ing either video or CPU - right? If the GPU sizzles and you send it in for repair, there are ways to find out if it was OC-ed.

i believe it is possible, but i do not believe that they will actually check. most large enterprise companies turn out warranty work as fast as possible. i used to be a dell warranty tech. dell could have cared less. they just replace parts till it works. especially since these are "business" machines. the cpu constantly changes the clock speed anyway, so it would hard pressed not to get to get that warranteed too. Just my thoughts.

I use RivaTuner to overclock. I didn't bother to measure the temperatures, since I don't play overclocked (I only play Source games, which run fine at stock speeds).

I just overclocked it to look at the framerate differences in games and observe benchie differences.

I wish someone would post some in-game benchmarks instead of just 3dmark. I'd like to know precisely how well it runs these games: World of Warcraft, UT2K4, FEAR, Half-Life 2 (and the other Source engine games), Quake 4 (and other Doom 3 engine games).

We shouldn't expect it to be a Crysis card or anything like that, but it *should* be great for "last-gen" games (2004-2006 era).

Half Life 2 and CSS run maxed out max res at over 40fps for me @ stock speeds. Doom 3 ran also pretty much maxed out at a smooth 25-30 fps.

I'm a big time Valve junkie so that's great news. I probably play CSS and its mods more than anything else. Is 40fps like the average fps, or is that as high as it'll go maxed out? And at what resolution, 1440x900? Thanks again.

Let me just add that The Sims 2 runs at full everything as well on 1280x800 res.

I personally get around 45 fps playing Source @ 1440x900 with all settings maxed out, save for lowered settings on the AA/AF. I run at stock speeds.

heh ... not bad ... and it's not even a gaming GPU ... I'll be getting this one over the 570m, even though both vid cards are the same price on the T61 14" SXGA+ (standard screen)

Yup wxga+ resolution and 40fps is the lowest I've seen it go. Usually it's right around 60 which is the max that I have set due to vsync.

i have not tested too much but i have been using the 169.xx and 167.xx drivers without any video related issues. it just takes too much time to 3dmark them all after an install. im gonna try some 17X.XX drivers tonight and see what i come up with. you can try them yourself at www.laptopvideo2.com

It seems to be in about the same league as the desktop 6600gt or a little better, which was a legendary price/performance card a couple years ago. I can totally live with that. Being able to max out Source games is more than adequate for being a "non-gaming" card. Right there means you get like a half a dozen of the best games of all time running flawlessly.

I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I was expecting it to be more like the TI cards from yesteryear. Only being able to go up to Unreal 2K4 before sucking.

Tried the 174.20's tonight. No dice. 3dmark crashed. Sticking with the 169.09 for now. May check some earlier drivers to try and squeeze out a few more points.

Yeah. But that's my overclocked score. 1699 is my stock score.
