Have just about made up my mind on purchasing a T60P with a widescreen Display type of 15.4 WSXGA+ TFT. Is this a glossy or anti-glare(matte finish) display? I would really like a glossy screen but if not I would just like to hear some feed back on the quality, sharpness, & brightness of the display. Thanks.

I believe that Lenovo does not offer any glossy displays. I have a LG-Phillips 15.4" WSXGA+ on my T60. While it isn't the brightest screen by a long shot, it's very colourful and crisp. Horizontal viewing angles are very good, though vertical viewing angles are not so much. No complaints about the screen from me!

Do you think if I order directly from Lenovo they will supply me a screen made from LG by default? They are having a Sale and it seems pretty reasonable compared to other retailers. Thanks.

I've heard of people getting both Samsung and LG screens from Lenovo.com, though it does seem to me that the Samsung screens are become more and more rare. I'm not sure if it is just the people who have been posting have the LG screens by coincidence or if Lenovo is really using more of the LG screens or perhaps only LG screens. Also take into consideration that it does take awhile for Lenovo to build and ship a CTO laptop whereas with a retailer like Buy.com you could potentially have it within a week.

LCDs are luck of the draw--even screens from the "preferred" manufacturer can be undesirable, and vice-versa. I would not put too much stock in the manufacturer. As chaosrl has mentioned, there are no glossy thinkpad screens.

I just ordered last week and ended up with the LG screen, but plenty of other people recently have gotten the Samsung screens... It still seems very much a coin toss.
