I need a convertible tablet pc for engineering courses this fall, and I was wondering where/when would be the best place/time to get a good deal.

    x220
    or
    x230
    or
    Anything comparable

    thanks

Best place to find tablet recommendations is at tabletpcreview. Highly favored there is the Fujitsu T901, HP 2760P and Lenovo X220T in that order. X220T has been superceded by the X230T. The 2760P hasn't had a Ivy Bridge successor announced as yet. The T901 has recently had a quad-core user upgrade (note: warranty implications) by a user. See http://forum.notebookreview.com/fujitsu/663890-upgrading-t901-results.html and Thinkpad X220 Tablet vs. HP 2760p Tablet? - Page 3 .

tabletpcreview has very few traffic and the moderator(s) is bashing everything except HP elitebooks.

Do you guys know of a great place to buy?

Try the Lenovo Barnes & Noble Affinity Site, you can create a registration there and pricing is anywhere from 10 - 20% cheaper than the regular Lenovo.com.
