My thinkpad is almost 3years old with 48% remaining capacity. I currently have the larger 9cell that sticks out. I'd like to replace it with an OEM genuine lenovo but they're $190. Are there any viable alternatives?

I'd recommend that you get the OEM, go to here (EBAY for OEM 9 cell) for ;)$70 ;).

Thanks. $70 is a great price for genuine lenovo battery.
