I currently have a Lenovo T61p laptop with the 15.6" screen. I have the Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.2 ghz) with 2 gigs of RAM. I have the nVidia Quadro FX570m graphics card for use with the CAD programs..

The ONLY two complaints I have about this laptop are the following..

1.) The screen is very dim, it's a non-reflective screen but the screen is not very bright. When I sit this laptop next to my Dell laptop with the reflective screen the Dell blows this one away in terms of brightness, clarity, etc. Are all the new Lenovo screens still dim like this?

2.) This Lenovo is pretty heavy in weight, I have the extended 9 cell battery and it sticks out the back of the laptop. Do all the new ones have this battery sticking out like this? What if you buy a bigger screen laptop?

    Thanks!

    1) The new screens (especially LED models) are brighter. However, they are still matte (a plus in my opinion) and generally have worse contrast ratios than consumer notebooks with glossy screens.

    2) The 9 cell always sticks out the back, but the 6 cell usually does not (especially on 15" models). You need to choose your preferred balance of size and battery life. Weight is generally pretty good with the modern ThinkPads (although the extended batteries can mess with the balance).

If you opt for the FHD LED screen, the contrast is gonna be high enough (514:1) accompanied by a 95% gamut. And yes, anti-glare will only be a benefit, as you can avoid the reflections and be able to use the system outdoors.
