    Hi,

I have recently acquired a T61 with Vista Business. It did not come with pressed rescue CDs, therefore I immediately generated the set of 10 recovery CDs using the Lenovo software.

I will have to move some partitions soon (to install BSD and other experimentations). The computer came with 2 partitions, the first one being a 6GB containing the recovery part and the second one being the installed system. If I remove them (or move them), will the recovery CDs recreate these partitions, reformat and reinstall them as initially? Even if I completely wipe the drive and remove all partitions? Or are there differences (do I need to redo the initial partitioning again) ?

Also, could I later use these CDs on any blank harddrive (if one day I decide to upgarde the harddrive to a bigger one) ?

    Thanks in advance.

Recovery discs format the computer to factory settings, partitions and all.

    You didn't buy a DVD burner? It's 2008!
