Ok, my situation is that I'm currently using my companies T41p (which is a great laptop by the way, made me a big Thinkpad fan) and now I want to purchase my own laptop. I am considering the z60t for its weight and the z60m for its more beefed up hardware. Since I already have a t41p to use for travelling and such, do you think it would be better to get another lightweighter or should I might as well go for the z60m. It would basically be my only computer, until i get my Media Center in place :p Downside is if I get fired or move onto another job down the line, I lose the T41p. Hopefully by then, I'll be making enough money just to buy both. :D Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

An optimist. If you need mobility, I'd say the z60t. Otherwise the z60t.

I'd say to go with the Z60m, because you've already got a thin & light. Unfortunately, they seem very rare still, because abaxter's review in Notebook Review is the only one I have been able to find so far in exhaustive searching. (ZDNet's review is actually of the Z60t and rather confusing, too.)

Also, I have yet to hear how the MaxBright screen looks and how it will fare on battery life. As abaxter said, however, the basic screen is already very nice and much brighter than the Z60t screen (or, for that matter, the T43 screen except maybe the much more expensive IPS Flex View). Also, the Z60m has decent speakers for a laptop and seems to be built like a tank. It seems kind of heavy at 6.5 to 7.5 pounds, though slightly smaller than my daughter's 15.4 inch HP 5100 and not much bigger than the 15.4 inch Asus Z70Va. So build up your pecs!

But I'm pretty jazzed by the Z60m. Now if Lenovo will just ship some before we run out of patience! :buyIBM:
