Hi all. 2 year old T400, the screen has died. I've tried to buy from about 7 different vendors all online and none of them have it or can seem to find it. It's getting a little ridiculous. The screen is a LP141WP2-TLB1, aka 42T0498. Anyone know where might have one for a decent price? and by decent price, I mean some foolish people on ebay are selling one for $300, might as well strip the thinkpad for parts and buy a new laptop at that point.

    Thanks.

$300 is probably less than half what Lenovo would charge for the same part. You might want to post over in the Marketplace Forum on ThinkPads.com. You're more likely to find ThinkPad parts over there. eBay can be hit or miss. A lot of the screens are compatibles, meaning they'll fit and work, but aren't as good as original OEM parts.

Is it CCFL or LED? I actually have a Samsung CCFL WXGA+ display hanging around. I wasn't very happy with it when it was in my T400, but if it can help someone out I'll part with it.

You can get a parts only T400 for 300 or less. But as ZaZ said, Thinkpad forums is a good way of getting parts. TONS of spare ThinkPad parts, you would not believe.
