I am going to invest in a T400 in the coming months to use as both my personal and business laptop.

I was curious if i will be doing a lot photo editing and some movie editing will the switchable graphics be necessary or should i just stick to the integrated?

If curious, the photo/movie editing will be for golf lessons for my students so i don't think they will be very graphic intensive.

    Thanks for any help

Don't believe there will be any significant difference for the type of work you'll be doing. The one area you may find a difference is the ATI display driver provides more flexibility to adjust things like saturation on your display. Won't affect the photos or movies just how they look on screen.

With that said, since the switchable isn't much more expensive and gives you more options should you find you want to do something graphics intensive I'm not sure why you wouldn't go with it.

That's a good point, it will be nice to "have it" when and if i need it.

    Thanks for the help
