    Hi everyone,

Need your helps on the crash down of my newly arrived x201s. I got it yesterday, everything was good and went smoothly till today when I ran the thinkpad system update program and something weired happened after the system automatically installed an updated bluetooth drive " Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II". Many files lost after that and when I restarted the computer,a blue screen appeared repeatly and the system can't start the windows any more, cannot go to Safe Mode either. I have no idea what to do and ended up using the System Restore function to reinstall it. And now for the second time, the problem appeared again, I called the Lenovo Service Centre, they said I have to wait till Monday to get this problem fixed. So I have to reinstall the whole system again and now just back to normal.

Now I'm scared if I run the system update again, same thing would happen for the third time. Guys, do someone know how to solve this problem? Thanks so much.

I think the prudent thing to do here would be to not run system update.

    Thanks ZaZ,
yeah, probably, but I used to believe it's safe to run factory system update. I felt so frustrated the whole day. Reinstalled the system the third time. The reason makes me update the system is the thinkpad bluetooth mouse I using. It always lose connections. So weird. The last thing I want to do is reinstalling the computer but today I've already done it 3 times.

I'll just stay away from system update till I'm convinced nothing similar would happen.

This is why I never update - System or Windows. If I do a clean install, I'll get the latest drivers, but if you got something that works, why mess with it. I'd say it's much more common for updates to break something than fix it.
