Hello, I'm in need of a new laptop. I use it every day for online research and online gaming. The gaming is the java type like pogo.com. I am in need of strong ability to get online by wireless at multiple places due to travel. I have gotten so used to the track point IBM used that I don't like gaming with the pads or mouse. I figured I would spend somewhat over $2,000. I am concerned whatever I buy work smoothly and that nothing is missing that I need. This is a quote I would like your opinion. Please let me know if you think any component should be more or less or better choice. I have a question about the on/off switch for the wireless. Why don't they have one on this model? Thanks in advance. This is harder than buying a car lol. They said they would not be able to mail for 3 weeks and I would still have to load Vista myself. Is this normal delivery time?

Delivery time is dependent on supply and availability of parts at the time of assembly. I don't see any components listed, only "NO CPU", "NO RAM" ect, which would likely not be the case. Did you copy/paste the right parts of the quote?

They tend to be conservative when estimating shipping times. I got my R60 in a little under two weeks.

For the things that you do, that system seems awfully strong...
However, the one recommendation I would make (if you can afford it) is to go to the FireGL, either the V5200 of the V5250.

I agree that the T60 seems a bit overequipped for the kind of work "free" is doing. But in that case, why add a FireGL card? That's not necessary, in my opinion.
