    2 problems:

    1. The instructions say to use WINUPTP.EXE. However, this file is not included in the compressed download. When I search I'm not finding a file that corresponds to both the T61 and Windows 10. Plus, I'm not comfortable making that decision alone. I sure would have preferred the file to have been in the download.

    2. If I do not use the referenced installer but burn ISO #1 to CD, boot from CD, the install fails with an error 99 (179) which makes zero sense. I have just installed a new SSD on the T61, installed Windows 10 and no other software other than Firefox at the moment. The error message is specific to BitLocker and wants same disabled. There is no instance of BitLocker on this clean drive--I've never even heard of the software!

    Help!

Try downloading it again with Windows Defender's "Real-time Protection" off, link: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Middleton's_BIOS
I'm sure "WINUPTP.exe" is there, both in the folders of normal one and the one with Ctrl+Fn swap.

If you're running Windows 10 64-bit then flashing in Windows won't work, it must be done in 32-bit Windows.

Since you're talking about ISO #1 I'd guess you're trying the Ctrl+Fn swap version, if ISO #1 doesn't work you'll need to use ISO #2 instead.
