There seem to be a good deal on the E6510 as late, it's a solid business laptop too. If it's reasonable then go for it, we're not going to send a hate mob on your doorstep for choosing the Dell E6510!

Personally i dont like its (Latitude series) square shaped power button/other buttons above keyboard, if I forgot to mention any.
So, unless its a steal, I wont get one that soon, unless they changed to round buttons like on Thinkpads which I think perfectly blend in with the design :)

It's hard to argue with the Dell Outlet and 25% coupon from a value perspective. I'd ask what's your goal? If it's just to get the Core CPU, it wouldn't seem worth the effort. If you've got the WSXGA+ LCD, you won't get that option on the Dell.

I am the owner of a T400 with the T9600 cpu
    A x200tablet and I also have a dell 6510 i7 with the full HD

Go for it, them outlet prices are hard to pass on.
Mine is not via the outlet.

Don't overspend for the backlit keyboard.
OEM brand new backlit keyboards can be purchased for under $20 to your door, eBay.

Dell configuration option for backlit keyboard is $25. For 5 dollars difference, I choose Dell over eBay. :)

Backlit keyboard is one of those subjective personal preferences. I've found it helpful once I started using it on the Studio 1558 for the first time.

My point was basically, when ready to purchase if no outlet backlit is available, don't miss out on the deal over a $20 option.

One question to ask yourself though is what the E6510 (or the T510, for that matter) will provide over your current T500, and whether the price is worth it for those differences.

my rule of thumb, if you NEED to upgrade do it. otherwise wait on SB ow what ever is next.

oh, if you go Dell business line you probable won't go back to Thinkpad... I've seen those machines and they are much more solid than any new Tseries thinkpad I've seen.
