Earlier this spring I went through my z60m and T60 in the hope of finding that "perfect laptop" and had a few issues crop up. One being a blob of massive backlight leakage on the z60m after it bumped a chair inside a laptop case, and a t60 that had loose hinges, backlight leakage on the bottom, and too many creaks and rattles.

I have given it a good 4 months since then, have things changed? Specifically with the T60 series. I know mine was pretty quick off the line when they first came out, and hopefully kinks worked out since then. I am working with around hopefully 1600 or so this summer, and putting the T60p in my sights. I loved having a laptop so much, even if it was using it on my bed no more than 3 feet from my main desktop.

Could those of you with a T60 around for a while maybe comment on the following items. If things seemed to have improved I will probably get an order in on a T60 to hopefully get it before August as a early bday gift to myself.

    1. Screen Hinges. Left on mine had movement when screen was opened and closed.

    2. Flex on the upper panel about an inch from the hinge that when pressed would make the fan slightly grind.

    3. Backlight leakage on the very bottom edge of the screen. Most noticable part with this is colors look slightly whiter or brighter like the bottom half of the windows taskbar during normal usage.

    4. Palmrest squeaks on the right side above the hard drive.
