Hey guys, I am looking for a second computer for schoolwork (reading, writing) and sometimes a little browsing. I already have a main desktop that will be used for multimedia and other uses. I originally ordered the T530 but it seemed heavy and bulky, especially since I don't need that big of a laptop because I already have a desktop. Now that I've returned it, I've got a X230 on the way. I like the fact that its very portable and can be easier to carry around. However, I'm still not sure if I made the right choice. LOL I have a very difficult time deciding between laptops.

I think I've made the right decision since I don't need a desktop replacement-type laptop such as the T530. I plan on using this laptop in various places. On the other hand, I will miss the FHD screen of the T530 and that robust feel. So what do you guys think is the proper laptop in this situation?

The X230 will definitely give you that robust feel, but certainly not the 15.6" screen and the FHD pixel resolution. However, if you consider the T530 "big" and "bulky," the X230 should be more suitable for your mobile needs.

Hey, you can't have "everything" in one package! (That's why I have more than one notebooks: but different tools for different situations.)

The T530 I had did not necessarily feel big and bulky but it felt slightly more at home on a desk :). I was concerned about the small text but as you mention, that was not a big problem. In fact, it was very crisp. I guess the main reason I returned it is because I felt it was too much laptop for me considering it was my secondary machine. If the T530 was the only computer I had, then it would be lovely. Maybe I'm overthinking (which is my problem) :D. Thanks

Can't really go wrong with either laptop, especially if you got the X230 with the IPS display upgrade. Though since you already returned the T530 and have the X230, I'd say keep it and enjoy it :)
