My wife teaches a class and I don't think they will buy her something that she wants to do.

She has a projector that has a vga connection.

She would like to have a tablet that she or the students can write on and it will display to projector. What's the cheapest way to do this as I'm buying it on myself and I'm sure the school won't reimburse us.

I know on my Samsung Note 4 I can mirror link to my Samsung LCD TV at home because the TV is on the same network or they have some way of communicating. Is there a similar receiver output vga device I can hook up to the projector. I like lenovo's and their on site service so a lenovo tablet would be near the top of my list but they run expensive for something that I'm going to be donating.

I also have some x61t I could give her but there is no way to carry the tablet around and have it send the display to projector. Plus it's kind of heavy for a tablet but this might be my cheapest option to get a vga wireless adapter. I have a whitelist bios and wifi cards I can put in her laptop that support intel wireless display.

The cheapest way is to get a long vga cable for the X61t and use this cable to connect the computer to the projector.

You might be able to hack something together with Chromecast and an HDMI to VGA adapter. With this method you'd plug the Chromecast into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the projector. I've never tried this though so I can't guarantee that it will work. If it does there may or may not be issues with resolution differences between the sending device and the projector.

Wireless VGA might be the most versatile solution. I think that's going to cost $100+ USD
