I really want to make some changes to my X61 order, as the same configuration I ordered is ~$200 cheaper now compared to when I placed the order, aside from a T7300 instead of a T7500, which I'm concerned will generate lots of heat. If I were to do this, should I cancel my order and place a new one? If I do this, when can I expect to get the notebook?

Or could I call them and reconfigure? Or would this too screw up my order? Thanks..

i guess they'll have to first cancel the old order.

I first ordered 6/9/07, first ESD was 6/28/07. That ESD has come and gone, 2nd ESD is now 7/31/07. I'm thinking it will actually ship soon.

I really am kind of wanting to reconfigure, is there any way to do this? Or is it pretty much hopeless?

I was also thinking about dumping the Turbo Memory..

What you can do is wait for the old order shipped, either reject the package or accept it and mail it back immediatly without opening.

And at the same time place a new order.

Right, but wouldn't this mean I'd have to wait until, say, October to actually get it?

I don't think you need to wait that long if you order now.

Email or call lenovo today and say you want to cancel the current order. And no matter they cancel for you or not, you have the way to send it back to lenovo and get full refund.

Place a new order now. I think it takes a month at most.

    Which generates more heat?

The wait is probably going to be a month.

I would imagine the T7500 generates more heat than the T7300, as it's rated at a higher clock speed.
