Hi, would greatly appreciate help if someone could tell me if I should buy specific Lenovo Ram - Lenovo 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz Low-Halogen 55Y3711 or I can go with SO-DIMM DDR3 4Gb PC10660 1333Mhz Kingston (KVR1333D3S9/4G) ?

My set up comes with only 4G, i want to top up till 16, I am in Russia and Lenovo here is not built to order so I can not choose at start, Ram by Lenovo is 4 times, 4 times!!!! the price of Kingston. Please advice.

Also if you don't mind i would like to figure out if I am going to be ok if i try to install 120Gb Intel SSDSA2CW120G3K5 SATA 2.5" 320-Series and if it was a good choice?

    thank you a lot!

The Kingston RAM you mentioned should work fine in your system, plus being much cheaper than buying directly from Lenovo certainly makes it a better buy. Kingston should also offer Lifetime warranty on their memory modules for peace of mind.

Intel 320 series is a good choice, its based on the reliable X25-M platform and hasn't had major issues with the W520 compared to the Intel 510 where its known to have some problems on warm reboots.

Well, seeing as he wants to max it to 16gb, we would have to assume that he at least has an i7-2720qm.

By the way, I think the installation order should be:
    1. upper one under keyboard
    2. lower one under keyboard
    3. closer to SN label one on the bottom
    4. last one

I got it :) I have 2820QM, Quadro Fx 2000m, color sensor, will now try to install the SSD and ram, but there were no installation CDs or DVDs I guess this is standard for Russian set as the box was sealed and it is brand new, I wonder how should i proceed with the SSD without windows

You can make a system disk using some of the Lenovo tools on the original drive. Then use that DVD to install Windows on the new SSD.
