Just picked up my most recent Thinkpad - 12.5" X230 with 6-cell battery.
What's the go-to neoprene sleeve case for this notebook?

im just using the same one I used for my acer timelinex 4830t: Amazon.com: Case Logic PLS-14 14.1-Inch Neoprene Laptop Sleeve (Black): Electronics
perhaps you can pick up the 13in size for a better fit -
I'm a big fan of those cases - Currently using the PLS-14 for my Asus UL30VT.
But how is it not way too big for your ThinkPad 12.5" X230? I tried mine and it was huge.
Their smallest is designed for a 13.3" notebook - Amazon.com: Case Logic PLS-13 Neoprene 13.3-Inch Neoprene Laptop Sleeve (Black): Electronics
Has anyone used this successfully with a 12.5" notebook? -
Yeah it's a little big for it, but didn't feel like buying another so I just recycled lol

Hate to bump this, but... anyone else have a suggestion to offer? I'd prefer something that isn't too big for the x230 -- the extra room that it slips around in bugs me. Also prefer if it had a compartment for the charger, a mouse, and a set of headphones but that's not a game changer.
Interested in full blown cases too I guess, if they're small/thin instead of trying to double as a bag/briefcase. Thanks! -
Thanks for this thread as I'm also looking for a sleeve for my X230 with the 9-cell battery. I currently have the Lenovo sleeve that is very big. It can even fit the T or W 530 with the 9-cell battery. So my laptop is moving all around that big sleeve. I would like a sleeve that will be snug but not too tight. Since I have the 9-cell battery, that needs to fit comfortably as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Scissors, needle and thread?

This one -- Amazon.com: Caselogic PAS-213 13-Inch Macbook Neoprene Sleeve (Black): Electronics -- was suggested to me. Anyone have any experience with this one? I'm guessing that a particularly tight 13.3" sleeve or a rather loose fitting 11.6" sleeve will be the way to go, but it's hard to know which is going to be which.

I have this exact same case for my x230 with 6-cell battery. It fits my laptop alright but it by no means is a perfect fit. Length is pretty good with only about 1cm space left once the laptop is in the case. As for width, it is about 3cm too large for x230 with 6-cell battery (which means 9-cell would probably fit much better). I like the overall quality of the case though. The material and finish are of good quality. However, if you're looking for a perfect fit for x230/x220 with 6-cell you're gonna have to look elsewhere.

There were a number of such threads in the past for x220, which is the same size of x230, so you should be able to find relevant info there. For example:

Bestbuy Targus TSS598US Neoprene sleeve fits X230 6-cell perfectly. No stretching required; no extra space. It is billed as the A7 Sleeve for Chromebook. $27. It was the only one that fit after searching all day everywhere (Walmart, Target, Office stores, Fred Meyer, )

I have to agree the Targus strata laptop sleeve, designed for the Chromebook fits the Lenovo X230 like a glove,
It even has a zipped front pocket, and is adequately padded as well as rain resistant.
The new Targus strata TSS35EU. Up to 29.5cm-30.7cm or 11.6" -12.1".
Like the previous reviewer I looked everywhere previously.

For $7 that I paid I thought it was a bargain.
I bought this it fit my dell e7240 and I think my x220 was a very tight fit. Just about a perfect fit for the e7240
