I am trying to decide whether or not to get one for my t61. I saw a thread that said the paint rubs off the case easily so that would be my only reason for not getting one. I will be carrying the laptop in my backpack to and from the library at school.

Go for it. You are probably referring to the thread on the Sony board about the Zero Shock case. I have not experienced this with my Elecom Zero Shock III at all. It is an excellent sleeve.
I also use the Booq Vyper XXs from time to time, but it is simply not protective/soft enough inside. Looks very good though. -
Not so much the case paint wearing off but the laptop itself. I am trying to look for a good case for a t61 15.4 in laptop and I have seen some on newegg but there aren't many reviews for them. Any help would be appreciated.

There have been a few sleeve threads recently. Search on ebags or target or case logic or sleeve and you will find them.

BTW, my preferred laptop case is a Pelican case.

Try the Mobile Edge 15.4 neoprene sleeve. It has a zippered pocket to hold your mouse and a/c adapter. Very roomy.

I have a 1470 pelican case and I love it -
i personally like the incase for macbook's at the apple store...does anyone have any opinions about this?
-
The sleeve made by InCase for the 17" macbook pros works perfect for my 15.4" T61.
When I bought it, the Apple sales guy said, "you should get a slimmer laptop to fit in here!" And I said, "I'm happy with my Lenovo that was half the price, is just as powerful, has a higher resolution screen, has a battery that lasts longer, and doesn't have a heat management problem." He stopped talking. -
Lol..love the comment...thinkpads kick a$$! -
anyone know which case fits a 14" widescreen + oversized battery?

Anyone know if there is a sleeve that will fit an x61s with the extended battery?
