    New 15.4" T61p (pictures)

    Ordered Aug 29, shipped Aug 31, Delivered Sept 4.

    wsxga+, 2.2 g C2D, 2 G RAM, 100g 7200rpm HDD, bluetooth, wireless AGN, DVD writer, Vista Ultimate.

    I am one satisfied customer. This is my first thinkpad, and I am sure there will be another one 3 or 4 years later whether it carries the IBM logo or not.

    Talking about Vista, I like it. It runs all my applications surprisingly smooth. It also recgonized all my electronic stuff. Oh, for webcam, I highly recommend Logitech Notebook Pro for laptop.

    I 've attached some pictures.

    I want to ask some questions:

    1. what kind of accessories are you guys planning to buy for your T61p? (dock, case, sleeve, memory)

    2. what pre-installed software should I keep and what to uninstall? ( I didn't plan to do a clean install till I switch to 64)

    2.what software do you suggest to purchase?

    My plan is to get a dock for my office, get a sleeve that fits it with the 9-cell in it, and step up to 4 gigs of memory.

    As for software, get LoJack :D.

    Congratulations! Nice pics. :) I would HIGHLY recommend making the Thinkpad Restore and Recovery CD's/DVD. After that if you want Vista to perform much faster, then follow Stallen's clean Vista install guide.

    It just came with the IBM logo. I order it through the US site.

    Desperado, it does show T61p on the indication bar. I will post a picture for it.

    If you order through the consumer site, you'll still get the IBM logo.
    The machines ordered through the "partner" links and possibly EPP come with the new ThinkPad one.

    That's right.
    My T61 also came with the ThinkPad logo (ordered through the Realtors site).
    The T60 ordered through EPP came with the IBM logo. But it's an older model.
