I'm currently using a W520 w/ the older 7 row keyboard and I'm considering getting a newer more portable Thinkpad, but I was curious about the newer 6 row keyboard.
Like many others I prefer the 7 row keyboard layout, but my question is about the old Fn+Arrow media key functionality. I can't find any documentation that this still works, did they take this away? And how does one access the next/prev/stop/play media functions now on the newer keyboards?
I have to say I use these media buttons all the time and their placement in the 7 row kb is perfect.

If they were there, you'd see them. I believe the only current ThinkPad that offers them is the Anniversary edition, but that's a seven row keyboard.

So in the new 6 row keyboards if you hold Fn and hit the arrow keys they do nothing?

you can buy a W530 and mod it with the 7-row keyboard if you so desire
