I just bought a new battery at the Lenovo shop here in Taiwan. Manufactured date was 2010-03-23 P/N: 43R9255 S/N:R899N4P Was hoping for a 94W one but only got the 85W one. People at Lenovo said that there was only one available and it is this one and that they had no knowledge of any other types available which offered different capacities.

the capacity of the battery should be the same regardless of the cell manufacturer.

I recall reading here that the new ones came with more capacity or longer usage time  Who was it here that mentioned that they came with 94 instead of the 85W ??

Update: After doing a search of the part number, it don't seem to be available. In the Hardware Maintenance Manual, there are a few different part #s of the 9cell, 47++ but no 42T4695 (however, there are batteries with FRU #s 42T4694 and 42T4696). This might either be a mistake of the original poster or possibly Lenovo supplies reviewer units with a different battery?

It may just be a region difference. The manufacturing date definitely says it should be a 94whr, but if they only sell 85whr batteries in Taiwan, then that's your only option.

I don't think it is a region thing. I searched the Lenovo site and did not see anything about different battery capacities for different regions. All I saw was 4 cell,6 cell and 9 cell. Could you show me a link of your region from the Lenovo site that offers a different capacity?

I seriously doubt that Lenovo is going to make 2 9 cell batteries with different capacities to sell to different regions  When I did a search I searched the US site and Hong-Kong site of Lenovo.

This is normal. My T400's battery has 78Wh capacity printed on its label, but its true capacity is 84.24Wh. Why don't you put on the battery, and see what real capacity it is (you can use Power Manager, Everest, HWmonitor,... to do this)? Pretty sure it's 94Wh ;)

Well at least you have a healthy excess over the 84Wh. My 9cell for the x200 had about 85 Wh new, so you get a little bump. Not as close to 94 Wh though.

Sorry to bring back this old thread...but I actually own a 93whr battery. FRU 42T4694. At 8 watts it reads 11.5 hours hehe. I got it from an ebay seller a few months ago when there was information about them on lenovo's website...but sometime since then info about them on the website has fallen completely off the map and they are impossible to find. Anyone find a supplier? I would like to get another one.

This it? FRU 42T4694 for IBM ThinkPad

I was thinking about getting the larger 6 cell battery for my x100e here, but I don't know if they're a legit site or not.
