    Here's the link: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67989

From the patch notes (emphasis mine):
Someone who still has their defective T61 and their patience with Lenovo care to check this out?

    Very nice find lowlymarine. :)

Kind of lame that the update on the matrices say 19 sep 2007 still...

I'll check it through "release by date" method from now on.

ah yes the much discussed about 4gb/dual channel/2 slot problem most notably discussed in these threads:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=181232 and
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=179172

Does anyone still have this problem? I know several did but they sent it in and got the planar replaced and somehow the problem went away.

Not sure among the regular posters here who still have this problem but I hope someone still does and can post their findings with this bios. Lets hope this fixes it...and put to rest the whole software/hardware issue.

I wonder if this is going to show up in System Update for affected systems, or do we have to download manually??

I would think it strange for an update system to install a bios automatically.

The bios update showed up on my system update process today.

    It is now installed.

    I have a 2 x 1GB t61p system received a week ago.

I will have to push my system to see if there is improvement.

    will let you all know.

I guess the key test is the 2x2 4gb ram test.

updated mine. It added one submenu in the bios too.

I was going to change the logo screen on the start up, but I didn't find a nice looking lenovo logo ... so I just updated with the standard logo.

The extra submenu is Logo configuration?

no. Before you flash the bios, you have the option of loading your own image that is 16 colors, 640x480, and less than 10k in size after it gets compiled with the program. This image could show up at start up instead of the standard one that says ThinkPad with big letters

the submenu added some options, but I forgot what those were .. Nothing with major importance though

    That's awesome lol.

So you can actually put your name to start up instead of the ThinkPad logo?

I have 4GB of RAM but I did not have the issues, and I do not own any games. If I did, I would try it.

don't you have to install that hotfix kb937500 first in order to effectively update the bios?

i think it does not matter which you have. if you have integrated, you get the other fixes, if you have discrete, you also get the discrete fix!

Well, I finally flashed my bios last night. I ran the set up at default. save and exit. I ran the bitpro 3d test, set at 5 min, 100% in duty cycle, nonwindowed. The test ran for 5 or ten seconds then black screen is up, then a bong sound, then it turn white screen. I bring up the task manager to end the bitpro.
That is it, the new bios does not fix the 570M hang in 3d app with 4g(2gx2).
With 2g mmemory stick, the test ran at 14fps, hell so slow, and jiggling too.
NEW BIOS (Version 7LETA7WW _2.07-1.08.) DOES NOT FIX THE 570M GP CARD!
