I figure that since this is the most important driver on any system it deserves a heads up.

This was released 3 days ago: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/fil...64-bit+version&lang=eng&strOSs=162&submit=Go!
(make sure to pick 2. INF Update Utility ( 2347KB) for easier install; #1 is for advanced users)

I'm not saying everyone should go out and install it right now, but if you are having any issues that you just can't put a finger on this might help. If you are not having any issues you might want to wait for some feedback.

Huh... that's strange  Also, it is called Version: 8.3.0.1013 which is the exact same version number as before. BUT the date on the download page says 8/27/2007. So now I don't know what to think?

To make it even more confusing, if you look at the Lenovo chipset driver you get : Release Date: 2007/05/17 Version: 8.2.0.1012 and if you click the readme file you will see a date in the upper corner that says June 15, 2007.

So if you look at version numbers alone it appears that the Intel chipset driver is the latest. If you look at the dates... well, that's anyones guess.

Anyone know a way to find out which one is really the latest?

Heh.. Well, my machine is running ok for now, so I think I'll hold off until someone there uploads the right version or changes the dates
