I am upgrading my HD from my T400 to a bigger one. I don't know if I should clone the old hard drive into the new one, and make the operating windows partition bigger, or just do a clean install on the new HD.

I read through the discussions here, that one of the partitions that came with the laptop is necessary (the SERVICEV003 (S :) partition).

Can any help? I am confused on that partition. I know that Lenovo (Q :) partition is just the backup of the operation system.

Whatever you decide make sure that you have the recovery discs and a copy of the SWTools folder. I personally prefer a clean install. I don't use much of the ThinkVantage apps.
