    Hi guys,
Need to get a new screen for my T61p.
I found on the lenovo site these are the LCD's they put into this model of laptop.
    Samsung 42T0323 1280x800
    LG 42T0415 WXGA 1280 x 800
    LG 42T0421 WXGA 1280 x 800

Will any 15.4" WXGA TFT LCD with 1280 x 800 resolution and 30pin data input connector work in this model for example a dell 1525 screen would be or the same spec

I came across a seller on ebay selling compatible lcds.

    They write:
This glossy screen is an ideal upgrade from normal Matt finish LCD or a replacement to your exiting Glossy LCD.

This screen will fit almost any laptop which has 15.4" WXGA TFT LCD with 1280 x 800 resolution and 30pin data input connector.

    Thanks

    STG

It's best to purchase genuine Lenovo screens as they have Manufacturer EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) info on them. ThinkPads tend to check the EDID information on bootup, if the information mismatches then the screen could either output incorrectly or may not even work at all.

If you're looking at an inexpensive screen on eBay I would also suggest getting a genuine part. I'm sure if they say it'll work, it will, but the eBay screens tend to be low quality in my experience.

    Update:
    removed a Samsung LTN154U2-L05
    replaced it with a LTN154x3-L0D.

The new LCD seams to be compatible with the T61
